The original painting, Morning News, featured in the 2009 exhibition, Homage a Tuiga and then later in the Vettriano Retrospective exhibition, which was held at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow in 2013. 

The scene depicts a woman sitting outside the old Yacht Club in Monaco, a spot Vettriano discovered after he was invited to create a series of paintings to commemorate the centenary of the Yacht Club's famous yacht, Tuiga, in 2009.  The car in the foreground is a vintage Porsche, loaned to Vettriano for the shoot by the late John Coombs.
